dear Father,

let this time be for You and you alone.

I've struggled time and time again, wanting to be like You but always coming up short. Maybe I lack in desire. Maybe I lack in effort. Father, let Your strength and everlasting grace be evident in the things that I lack.

Let this night be not even about my hunger for Your will, but for the gflory that You so richly deserve. And in Your will, should You find it pleasing to satisfy my thirst for You, then do it, Lord -- not for my sake but for Your fame.
